How do I achieve a cost leadership strategy?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I'm looking for the best way to build and implement a successful cost leadership strategy for an e-commerce store. I think that this long-term strategy would give my store a competitive edge. Has anyone here had success with integrating the strategy with low costs? I obviously want to keep my expenses as low as possible.

The main aim of a cost leadership strategy is to reduce production costs to charge lower prices of products from its competitors. A business will choose the cost leadership strategy when it wants to increase its market share, and maximize profits.

Cost leadership strategy gives your biz a competitive edge. That's the reason why this strategy has been tried and tested by successful brands. One example that comes to my mind is Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin Donuts earn more money from its highly affordable coffee than its donuts. The primary reason is that the brand markets its coffee at less than a dollar, making it a great alternative to Starbucks.
McDonald's, Walmart, RyanAir, Primark, IKEA, and many other brands use a broad cost leadership strategy to boost their revenue. You can replicate the same process to incorporate the cost leadership strategy into your eCommerce venture and see your business booming!
