Is machine learning good for chatbots?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi guys, is it common for AI chatbots to use natural language processing? I've been wondering whether it's worth doing it this way (that way, my customers can get an improved experience each time they return) or if it would be more reliable to use a linguistic-based chatbot? I would love to know about your experience. Thanks.

Yes. It is common for AI chatbots to use natural language processing (abbreviated as NLP). AI chatbots are an advanced technology designed to simplify and streamline customer support service. Both machine learning and linguistic rules based approaches are attractive, but also limited in one way or another. Hence, the better approach is to opt for a hybrid model and combine the goodness of both systems. This way, you can ensure your chatbot's abilities are not limited, and your customers are well-served.
