Is there a way to control which routes my shipping carriers take to ensure that fuel consumption and emissions are reduced?

Optimizing shipping routes can reduce fuel consumption and emissions by mostly using transport management systems. Some of the ways to optimise shipping routes are:
- Combining pickup and delivery by allocating them to the same vehicle
- Deliver the heaviest items first if possible. The total weight of your vehicle can have a very big impact on your fuel consumption if you deliver the heaviest item first instead of last.
- Maximize your vehicle loads. An empty space in your delivery van increases the cost per delivery. By using a transport management system you will know what freight can efficiently fill your vehicle
