Using an Excel spreadsheet is a cost-effective way of tracking expenses. For a small business using an excel spreadsheet is great since it doesn't have many expenses to track. For bigger businesses using an excel spreadsheet becomes hard and might lead to incorrect profit and loss accounts. Software like Xero, Quickbooks, Freshbook, and Wave makes it easier to track expenses.
