What happens if a customer's package gets lost or damaged during shipping?

Hey guys, I'm very close to opening a store on Shopify and was just wondering what the standard process is if a customer's package gets damaged or lost. Am I automatically liable to refund or replace or what are my options?

As a seller, you'll be responsible for the lost or damaged package. First, you'll ensure to give quick responses to your customer's queries and contact the shipping company. File a claim to the shipping company and look into the tracking page number to ensure you filled all the right information and figure out if the package was actually delivered. Give a refund if the lost package is untraceable or damaged.
