Do I have to keep the original receipts, or can I keep scanned copies on my PC?

No, you don't need to keep original receipts for expenses. Expenses for less than $75 might not require a receipt but you'll need to explain when, where, and how you used the money.
Also, electronic receipts are acceptable in some situations, especially when using software to track expenses.
