Google Analytics: What is a micro goal?

Asked 3 years ago

I've recently found out that one can set up conversion goals on Google Analytics. But what does micro goal mean?

Micro goals are actions either necessary or indicative that users take to complete a macro goal. It is categorized into necessary actions and indicative actions.

Necessary actions are what users do to complete a macro goal like adding a product to the cart while indicative actions show a customer’s progress through your sales funnel like downloading ebooks during the consideration stage.
