What is an example of micro and macro-conversions?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I know that micro means small, and I'm assuming that macro means big. But how do I measure a micro vs. macro conversion?

Micro conversions are active engagements that users take on a website before a sale. Examples of Micro conversions are downloading ebooks, email newsletter signups, browsing other pages of the website. comments left on articles, adding to cart products, and using the website's search button.

There are multiple ways to project the performance and success of your website; one such route is tracking conversion rate. There are two subcategories of conversion rate: micro and macro.

Macro conversion or macro goals refer to a user's actions on your website, representing your website's primary objective. For example, in e-commerce, the primary aim is making a purchase.

On the other hand, micro-conversion includes small actions like signing up for an email course or newsletter, viewing a product, or adding a product to the wishlist.
