How do you calculate macro and micro conversion rates?

Asked 2 years ago

I would like to be able to calculate the percentage of my customers that come to my e-commerce store that engages in either macro or micro conversions. Is there a way to do these site engagements? Thanks.

To calculate the macro conversion rate, you need to determine the total number of desired MACRO actions (e.g., sales, sign-ups, registrations) on your website. Divide the observed number by the total number of visitors to the website. Finally, multiply the outcome by 100 to convert the answer into a percentage.

Example: If 200 people visited your website or landing page and 40 of them made a purchase, the macro conversion rate would be 20% (40/200 x 100).

The formula to calculate the micro conversion rate is also the same. The only difference is that instead of macro actions, you have to consider the number of desired MICRO actions (e.g., sales, sign-ups, registrations) on your website. Take this number and divide it by the number of visitors to the website and multiply the answer by 100 to get your micro-conversion rate.

Example: If 50 people visited a website and 5 of them signed up for a newsletter, the micro conversion rate would be 10% (5/50 x 100).
