How is the return on ad spend (ROAS) calculated?

Ive never been particularly good at revenue calculation and wanted to know was ROAS is calculated. Is the ROAS formula complicated or is it simple to understand? If it is a bit complicated, is there maybe an online calculator that could work it out for me?

The return on ad spent (ROAS) is an important calculation for an e-commerce business. It measures the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. It's not complicated to calculate as you might think.
