Can I use cohort analysis to assess customer acquisition strategy?

Hi, I want to gain a greater understanding of whether the quality of customers I am acquiring are improving or degrading. I think that this would then indicate whether my customer acquisition strategy would need to be changed or not. Since the cohort analysis is used to predict customer behavior, I was wondering whether it can help me to accurately assess my current cutomers' behavior?
