How do I add taxes on Shopify?

In your Shopify admin dashboard click settings and choose taxes. On the tax regions sections click setup that’s beside your region. In the sales tax section, click collect sales tax, enter your tax number and click collect tax. If you haven’t received your tax number yet, leave the tax number section blank.

To add taxes on Shopify:

1. Go to settings and then taxes.
2. Click setup in the Tax region section. Under the sales tax section, click collect sales tax.
3. Fill in the tax number section, and if you haven't received it after applying, leave it and fill it out when you receive the number.

Shopify automatically collects tax because of its built-in tax engine and applies a 0.85% transaction fee to orders with duty taxes.

To allow Shopify to collect your sales tax and VAT, follow the given steps:

1. Go to the Tax and Duties section in Settings.
2. Select your region.
3. Click Collect Tax to file Shopify sales tax according to your country.
4. Add the tax number if you have one and click "Collect Tax" to allow Shopify to charge tax.
