What is a time decay multi-touch marketing attribution model?

The time-decay model gives the most credit to the touch that led to the conversion which means that the further back the interaction the less credit it receives. Marketers use this model to optimize for touches that drive conversions and also the touches that increase the chances of conversion in the near future.
